TealPoint Application Suite and Six Apart Blogging for the Palm Foleo

Mon Jul 23, 2007 - 5:29 PM EDT - By Jennifer Chappell

Overview

Looks like the Palm Foleo got some more apps today! Palm, Inc. and TealPoint Software will offer Foleo customers a full suite of new security, entertainment and productivity applications, including TealSafe, TealPaint, TealDiet, SudokuAddict and ShortCircuit, with more apps to follow. This is great! Teal Software, a leader in mobile software solutions, has been around FOREVER and it's great to see them developing for another Palm-made OS. I'm sure many of you Treo owners have used their products. I've used TealPaint on some of my Palm handhelds and love it!

"With quality software support, the Foleo has the capability of revolutionizing the world of mobile computing, said Holly Egan, director of business operations for TealPoint Software. "As a leading developer of mobile applications, we can leverage our experience to best take advantage of the Foleo's open platform. Combining Palm's easy-to-use tools and our own unique proprietary software technology, we've been able to bring five full applications to the Foleo in only a few weeks. Moving forward, we plan to bring more applications to the Foleo new original titles as well as enhanced versions of our existing award-winning 28 applications for Palm OS.

Wow, looks like there will be a lot more great TealPoint apps to come for the Foleo. I look forward to seeing what those new original titles will be.

You can check out the TealPoint Foleo apps here.

Palm's new social media press room, (aka the infamous "we leaked the Foleo 12 hours eary" page) has more information about these and other Foleo apps. For example, there are video demos here of Bluefire Mobile Security VPN and Avvenu Access 'n Share. We reported on those Foleo apps and the other apps that were announced recently.

There was more Foleo news today. Palm and Six Apart announced the availability of blogging services on the Foleo, including Vox, LiveJournal, TypePad and Moveable Type.

"Today's customers are doing much more with their mobile devices, including staying in touch with online communities, said Mark Bercow, senior vice president of business development for Palm, Inc. "Six Apart's blogging applications take advantage of Foleo's large screen and easy-to-use interface, making it simple for customers to take photos with their Treo(TM) smartphone, upload them to their blogs, then use the Foleo to edit and add text.

Palm and SixApart worked together to ensure their blogging services work seamlessly on the Foleo's web browser. With these services available on the Foleo, users can keep blog and journal entries up to date and stay current with their communities while on the go. I've used TypePad quite a bit and always enjoyed the experience. It was easy to learn and made blogging fun. I can't wait to try it on the Foleo.
