Free Treo for Virgin flyers

Mon May 20, 2002 - 3:53 PM EDT - By Marcus Adolfsson

For a limited time, Virgin Atlanic is giving away free Treo Communicators to its business class travelers. All that is required is to join their frequent flyer program and fly round-trip once in Upper Class (their business class) to London between May 15 and September 30, 2002. During the flight you will receive a gift certificate for a complimentary Handspring Treo, however, service activation is required to get the Treo for free.

Free is a relative term, considering round trip airfare on Virgin Atlantic costs around $7,260.00.

The Handspring Treo offer will be available to Upper Class passengers flying from any U.S. Virgin gateway to London and is open to both new and existing flying club members. Passengers simply visit www.virgin.com/handspring to join flying club and pre-register.

"Now, more than ever, business travelers need an airline that supports them and understands their needs. Virgin Atlantic believes
that our latest amenity, the Handspring Treo 180, with its incredible capability as a global communicator with GSM world phone, a Palm OS organizer and the capability to send and receive e-mail is a perfect example of how we offer our business travelers value." said John Riordan, Vice President of Marketing, Virgin Atlantic Airways.

"And, the best part about this promotion is that it is completely inclusive and easily obtainable. You can participate in this promotion both when you book directly online with us or through your travel agent. Plus our promotion lasts four months, allowing business travelers plenty of time to get to London and participate in this valuable offer," stated Riordan.
