If you are a fan of the DateBK,calendar application for Palm OS based handhelds by Pimlico Software, this may be of interest.

Pimlico has just released Pimlical. It is a completely new calendar/PIM application that was written from scratch and presently runs as a Windows Desktop calendar app, with Mac and Linux versions expected later in 2009. According to the company, PIMLICAL was intended to start "the process of freeing DateBk users from the Palm OS platform." That being said, it currently works standalone or in conjunction with the current V-6.2 Palm Desktop software.

As for handheld support, Pimlico intends to rollout versions Blackberry, Android, Symbian and Windows Mobile later this year and into 2010. A Palm Pre version is pending (availability of the SDK is the challenge). Also, an iPhone version may become available "if Apple changes its policies on third party libraries such as Adobe Flash Player, Sun's JVM, etc."

A key selling point of Pimlical is that it is highly configurable, so things like fonts, colors and the screen configurations can be easily changed in the preference settings. More information on Pimlical is available on Pimlico's home page: www.pimlicosoftware.com.
