As shown at above, Verizon Wireless, now has a teaser on their website about the Treo 600: "Coming Soon: The Treo 600 Smartphone". Clicking on the link leads to a "not available" page. One can assume that they will soon have a page about an upcoming Treo launch promotion.
TreoCentral has learned that testing to certify the Treo 600 on Verizon's network has been completed, and it is only inventory build up, marketing wants, and Verizon's committal to the product that is holding up the release. To show Verizon that users will buy the Treo 600 we have started another Treo 600 Verizon petition. The text of it is below.
"To: Mr. Denny Strigl, CEO Verizon Wireless
We, the undersigned, do hereby declare that we will either switch our service to Verizon or switch our Verizon service to the Treo 600 the moment the Treo 600 is launched IF the pricing is same or lower than Sprint's for the hardware. For those of us already on Verizon, you will have removed our incentive to go to Sprint, T-Mobile, ATT, or Cingular by granting us the privilege of enjoying the Treo 600 on your top-rated network. The Treo 600 is the best smartphone ever created; to learn more about it please visit http://www.palmone.com or http://www.treocentral.com. An email address available to the petition author (TreoCentral.com) is required for this petition."
We are asking for email addresses so that next week (or so) we may share this list with Verizon and with PalmOne to prove that users want the Treo 600. You must check the share with petition author box to make your email address part of the petition. If you are seriously considering Verizon, please sign this petition and pass it on to others who may also want to purchase the Treo 600.
For the curious, there was an older Verizon petition with almost 4000 signatures, however we wanted to word a petition to show commitment to purchasing the Treo 600, and not just wanting it on the Verizon network.
