New RBT-2010 GPS Receiver from Seidio

Thu Dec 22, 2005 - 1:47 PM EST - By James Hromadka

I call Shotgun

Seidio has announced a new Bluetooth GPS receiver. The RBT-2010 GPS Receiver ($114.95) uses the high quality SiRF Star III GPS chipset but also has a 1700 mAh rechargeable battery—that's almost as much power as the standard Treo battery! Because of this, the RBT-2010 operates for up to 17 hours, making it an excellent receiver for those long road trips.

Here are some stated features of the device:
  • SiRF Star III GPS chipset
  • 20 parallel channels
  • NMEA0183 compliant protocol
  • Extreme fast TTFF at low signal level.
  • High sensitivity acquisition
  • Power saving features
  • Industrial Standard
  • Built-in Re-chargeable battery
  • Up to 17 hrs.of operating time
  • SBAS(WAAS/ ENGOS) is supported

I will have a full review of the RBT-2010 GPS Receiver at the beginning of the year after I return from a road trip to Colorado.
