Great accessories

Check out a few of the new accessories to the TreoCentral Store.

LG HBM-700

The LG Bluetooth Style-i is a lightweight wireless headset utilizing Bluetooth technology. It operates like a remote control for Bluetooth enabled mobile phones. It can work with up to three handsets at a time The device enables users to dial numbers through its blue back lighted keypad or to see the caller ID and the last number dialed on the blue display. Users can hold it just like a traditional cell phone, as there is a small speaker at the top and a microphone at the bottom. Moreover, there's a 2.5-mm jack to attach a headphone.

We are also liking these bluetooth headsets lately:

Jabra JX-10

TC Guide

In this week's TCGuide we give 10 tips for using the Treo in your social life. Yes, we freely admit we're not experts on improving your social life. But we give it a shot anyway:

  1. Text faster: QWERTY makes SMS more fun.
  2. Find bars and restaurants, movietimes, it's especially easy if you use Vindigo on the PalmOS).
  3. Settle bets: Fast internet means you always can pretend to be the smartest person in the room.
  4. Blog directly from your Treo. I personally like using Flickr's upload by email service to automatically add photos to Flickr and to my blog.
  5. Sports scores: whether your get your scores from the internet, MobiTV, or your Slingbox, there's always somebody nearby who needs a sports fix.
  6. Be anti-social: Play games on your Treo.
  7. Use Pinger to leave voicemail messages for your friends - or even comment on your friends' MySpace pages.
  8. The quick “email” instead of a business card: instead of trading email address, just send an email to your new friend right away. You get to trade contact info instantly and it's like a built-in followup.
  9. Share pictures. Your Treo has a gigantic screen, take advantage of it.
  10. ABC: Always Be Cool. Assume that it’s normal to have a smartphone, because dang it, everybody wants one, they just don't all know it yet. :)

TreoCentral Community

  • GoodGuy is talking a bit about the Motorola buyout in the forum. There’s no “insider info” there, but it’s nice to see a startup make good (see what I did there?). Good’s also maintained a developer’s section in our forum about their software for awhile now
