I got an email from eReader yesterday letting me know that they've just launched their new mobile website:
"We've just launched our new mobile website. Now you can browse, buy, install and start reading right away from your mobile device. Great for last-minute purchases before boarding that airplane. Just point your mobile browser to m.ereader.com."
So I immediately launched Blazer on my Centro and checked out eReader's mobile site, m.ereader.com. I love being able to look for eBooks on my Centro. Surfing on eReader's mobile site will be perfect for whenever I'm sitting around in a boring doctor's office and want to read an eBook but find that I've already read the ones on my Centro.
With eReader's mobile site, I can find more eBooks to put on my Centro. I'll show you how easy it is:
One of my all-time favorite books by one of my favorite authors is "Ice Hunt" by James Rollins. It's one of those books that keeps you glued to each and every page. Starting with chapter 2, you hit the page running and you don't want to stop. The book is action packed and has a little bit of everything. It's a great read. I had the book in paperback form and let a friend borrow it, and I never did get it back. So, this morning, I fired up m.ereader.com on my Centro and did a search for James Rollins as I wanted to see what books of his were on eReader's site. I quickly spotted "Ice Hunt" and clicked on it.
Buying the book online was easy. I just clicked on the "Buy Now" button. Luckily, eReader gives their Newsletter readers 10% off, and all you have to do is type the Promo Code in when you check out. As you can see below, the book would have been $7.99 but I got it for $7.19 after punching in this week's Promo Code ER82608. Sweet! So I finished the checkout process and the book was mine.
Next I just signed into my eReader account and went to my Bookshelf. And there was "Ice Hunt", ready for me to download over the air, straight to my Centro. It's nice to be able to download OTA instead of hooking up the hotsync cable.
I clicked on Download and my book started downloading and it didn't take long at all. Since "Ice Hunt" came in a secure format, I needed to put in my unlock code (credit card number that was used to purchase the book) to open the book after downloading it.
And that's that! I was able to start reading my favorite book again in no time! Check out the pics on the first couple of pages.
And next, you can see the Prologue. I can't wait to read this book again! I might not ever get my paperback copy returned to me, but I'll always have this book in eBook format now and can read in it anytime I want.
After I got "Ice Hunt", I went back to eReader's mobile site and looked at the categories of eBooks. I clicked on Business & Technology and browsed that category. And look what I found: "Piloting Palm: The Inside Story of Palm, Handspring and the Birth of the Billion Dollar Handheld Industry". Looks like a good choice, huh? ;-)
If you're in the reading mood over the holiday weekend, point your Treo or Centro's browser to m.ereader.com and find yourself a good eBook to read.
