iSync 1.0 Final released

Thu Jan 2, 2003 - 9:39 PM EST - By James Hromadka

Apple released today the final version of iSync, a utility that lets users synchronize certain Palm-powered handheld computers, the iPod, and certain Bluetooth mobile phones with the Address Book and iCal applications for Mac OS X 10.2.x.

I have been using the beta, and the 1.0 final release loads much, much faster and also has a Menu Extra icon that can launch the application or begin synchronization with the iPod or mobile phones. You still have to press the HotSync button to synchronize the Visor or Treo, however.

An updated iCal was also released and is required for the final version of iSync.

Both iCal and iSync are free; however certain features require a dotMac subscription.
