RIM has traditionally been "the enemy," even going so far as to sue Handspring for the keyboard design in the Treo. Should Handspring licence the email protocols that the Blackberry uses, the company would have a better chance in the enterprise market.
Colligan, in Toronto yesterday visiting partner Rogers Wireless Inc., said he could not comment on the state of any discussions with Waterloo-based RIM, revealing only "there has been some interest expressed on both sides."
