A Little More Juice for your Centro or Treo 800w

Overview

Update: Ms. Peabrain here didn't realize that the TC Store also has a Seidio 2600mAh extended battery for the Treo 800w. This battery comes with a battery door that has a soft-touch "rubberized" texture to improve grip. Sweet! You can pick this battery up for $54.95. Thanks to Frank for writing in and mentioning this battery!

I'm sure that like me, most of you Centro and Treo 800w owners out there get frustrated with the small 1150mAh battery that shipped with the device. I've got 3 Centro batteries and it seems like I'm always popping a fresh one in and charging up another. One of my favorite time killer games is Bejeweled 2, and let me tell you, that game can suck the juice out of my battery faster than a cat can get to the kitchen when it hears and smells a can of tuna being opened. Well, that might be exaggerating a little, but it is pretty fast. I'm not putting down Bejeweled; it's just fun and addictive. I've learned to plug in my Centro if I know I'll be playing for awhile. Even reading an eBook can drain my Centro's battery. Not as fast as a graphics intensive game though.

Anyway, I just wanted you to know that the TreoCentral Store now has the Seidio 1350mAh OEM sized extended battery available. This battery is compatible with the Centro and the Treo 800w. I still can't get over the fact that the Treo 800w has a battery as small as the Centro's, yet the Treo Pro has that huge 1500mAh sucker inside! The Seidio extended battery provides up to 15% more capacity than the Palm OEM battery. And another good thing about the Seidio battery is that it'll fit in your Centro and is compatible with the OEM door, so there's no need for one of those hump backed battery doors.

You can get the Seidio 1350mAh OEM sized extended battery here for $39.95.

If you want some extra extra juice for your Centro, check out the Mobi Products 2400mAh Extended Battery. This battery comes with a door, but the only color it comes in is White. You can get this extended battery here for $59.95.

There are many battery sizes to check out for your Treo or Centro here, so be sure to take a look if you need some extra juice.

I'm sure that most of you are aware of some of the ways in which you can keep your battery going longer. For example, you can keep your brightness level lower. I have no problem seeing my screen with the brightness level set close to the lowest level. Also, don't forget to leave that Infrared Beam Receive turned off under your Power settings. And keep Bluetooth and Wi-Fi (Treo Pro) turned off when you're not actually using them. You might want to also turn off the automatic date / time settings because your phone will keep checking the network to get the local date and time. You can just set the date and time manually and not have to worry about the constant drain. Plus, if you know you're going to be playing a game or listening to some tunes for a long period of time, and you're close to an outlet or your computer, plug in your Treo or Centro to save that battery. Just a few things such as these can help to make your battery last a little longer with each charge.

And don't forget, you can keep your Treo/Centro charged while you're on the road too. There are several car chargers to choose from so check those out if you're in need of one. I don't have one for my Treo Pro yet so I'm going to get one soon.
