According to this thread, a Treo 300 battery pack/sled is in beta testing, and is soon to be released.
" In brief, it is color-matched to the Treo, and as its name suggests, it is a sled-type attachment. It has a pass-through for HotSync and charging. It also has it's own charging light. From what I can see, it charges the main battery when it is installed. The capacity is 1500 mAh and it is a Li-Ion cell.
It is slightly narrower than the Treo and extends about 3/8 of an inch below the bottom of the unit. It is about 1/2 inch thick. Being a Li-Ion battery, it is very lightweight -- I would guess about 2 to 2.5 ounces. It has two small folding clips that attach to the top of the Treo on either side of the raised area at the top of the unit."
I first heard about this battery sled back in August, and at the time it was slated to have a December 2002 release. More recently, sources confirmed that the sled was still in development but they were unable to provide any timeframe of release.
This post gave us our first glimpse of info on this sled. Pictures, pricing, compatibility with other Treo's (I believe that at one time I was told that it would), are all unknown.
In another related story a new firmware upgrade for the Treo 300 is rumored. This should supposedly fix the battery problems that people have reported. Again timeframe is unluckily unknown.
