Palm Eos Arriving 2nd Half of 2009?

Mon May 25, 2009 - 1:32 PM EDT - By Jennifer Chappell

Overview

Our sister site PreCentral.net is reporting that Engadget has gotten their hands on an AT&T slide showing the Palm Eos coming in the second half of 2009.

Dieter notes in his article that although the specs on the Eos are what we've seen before, it looks as if the Eos will be using the Qualcomm MSM7225 processor instead of the lightning fast Texas Instruments OMAP found on the Pre.

I like how Dieter explains it:

"In other words, it's pretty clear that the Palm Pre is the flagship and the Eos is its small, Centro-inspired cousin."

As Engadget mentions, the slide shows "New Palm OS experience". So, does that mean "WebOS" for the Eos? That would certainly make sense as Palm is moving forward now with their newest platform.

The Eos, code-named "Pixie" sure is a cute little thing. Pixie is a great name for such a small and thin phone. As small as it is, check out the sweet specs on the slide. Heck, its got 4GB of user storage and unlike the Pre, its camera has video capture enabled.

If you're on AT&T and are salivating for the Pre, but don't want to make the CDMA switch and you want to grab a new Palm smartphone, you might want to wait it out for the Palm Eos. I want the Pre but who knows when the GSM version will show up here? A little Pixie might just be the phone to tide us over.
