According to a post at the SprintUsers forum, all is not lost when it comes to football and Sprint.
Sprint's game plan is tied to a new FREE app called Sprint Football Live.
At the end of this month, whenever Sprint customers tap on the NFL Mobile Live app, they will be prompted to down Sprint's new football app that offers a bunch of features, including:

Exclusive blogs from top Draft prospects Sam Bradford and Ndamukong Suh
