Thu Dec 2, 2010 - 4:12 PM EST - By Annie Latham

On Tuesday, at a Churchill Club event in San Jose, Paul Jacobs, the chairman & CEO of Qualcomm and Jon Rubinstein, current HP executive (and former Palm CEO/former Apple iPod Division SVP) took part in an event moderated by Kara Swisher, co-executive editor, AllThingsD.com. The topic: Wireless is the Biggest Tech Platform in History. Now What?

Rubinstein made some interesting comments:

> "...we are seeing is all of our lives are moving into the cloud."

> Regarding the biggest issues in the mobile space: "Battery technology has not progressed at the same rate as all of the other things we are trying to do."

> On mobile operating systems, he said that clearly Apple and Android are going gangbusters. The battle, he says, is for who is going to be No. 3. "We'd sure like to be that."

> On what does it take to deliver an Apple-like experience. Rubinstein, said he thinks that the key is delivering an integrated experience.

"I don’t think Apple is the only one that can do it, but I do think it is important to have all the elements."
