Hayashi Leaves HP-Palm for Numenta

Over the weekend, the story broke that Joe Hayashi, vice president of product management for webOS, has left the company to become the vice president of marketing for Numenta, a machine learning start-up led by Palm founder Jeff Hawkins and former Palm CEO Donna Dubinsky (Their third collaborative venture. Hawkins and Dubinsky were co-founders of Palm Computing and Handspring).

Hayashi had been with Palm since 2009 and served as one of its public faces (he was onstage in Barcelona last month talking up webOS at HP's App Developer Conference at Mobile World Congress).

HP has already replaced him with Lee Ott, formerly senior director of local at Yahoo.
