April is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month

Tue Apr 5, 2011 - 3:38 PM EDT - By Annie Latham

On Monday, the California Highway Patrol along with more than 200 law enforcement agencies across the state, began a campaign to crack down on the potentially deadly practice of distracted driving -- illegally using your cellphone or texting while driving.

Distracted driving involves more than the use of technology. It represents a range of activities that affect a driver's visual, auditory, physical or cognitive abilities while driving.

April is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month, so this is a great reminder for drivers throughout the country.
