Good Press Release:
Extending its leadership in delivering industry standards-based wireless messaging and corporate application access to the broadest range of handheld devices, Good Technology today announced that its GoodLink wireless messaging system has been optimized for the new Treo(TM) 650 smartphone from palmOne, Inc.
GoodLink is a wireless messaging and data access software and service offering that provides mobile users with AES-encrypted, two-way, real-time access to Microsoft Exchange-based e-mail, contacts, calendar, notes and tasks. GoodLink's Outlook-like, intuitive user interface and cradle-free, desktop software-free design lower the cost of mobile access to e-mail and other critical applications including CRM, ERP and SCM.
"Together, the Treo 650 and GoodLink deliver the premier wireless messaging and data access solution for enterprise customers," said Ken Wirt, senior vice president, Worldwide Marketing, palmOne, Inc. "The combination of the Treo 650's vibrant display, increased connectivity with Bluetooth, 1xRTT and EDGE support and improved keyboard provide an enhanced user experience with greater flexibility. The Treo 650 empowers mobile professionals to stay better connected and be more productive, complemented by GoodLink's speedy performance and advanced IT management tools."
The combination of GoodLink and the Treo 650 delivers a powerful wireless messaging solution for the mobile enterprise with an improved end-user experience:
-- Faster navigation, access to e-mail and other enterprise applications
via a nearly 300 percent increase in over-the-air sync speed.
-- Ability to store 50 percent more data, enabling users to keep more
e-mail, contacts and Web pages stored locally, thanks to improved
GoodLink utilization of the Treo 650's native memory.
-- Richer, more robust user interface for messaging and data access via
GoodLink's Outlook-like UI coupled with the Treo 650's brilliant,
crisp, 320 x 320 resolution display.
-- Enhanced PIM data management thanks to more Outlook features including
"Preview Pane," "Calendar Week View" and "Flag for Follow Up."
-- Convenient, instantaneous access to all applications, including e-mail,
calendar, contacts, notes, tasks and other enterprise applications due
to full integration of the GoodLink Home Screen with a more prominent
Treo 650 Home button.
-- Improved reliability through a nearly 25 percent increase in battery
life and preservation of GoodLink data in the Treo 650's Flash memory
in case of battery removal or outage.
-- True multi-tasking support enables users to compose multiple e-mails,
check calendar and contacts just as they would on a desktop or laptop.
-- More productivity with less effort thanks to the Treo 650's enhanced
QWERTY keyboard with larger and flatter keys for faster typing.
Additionally, GoodLink on the Treo 650 provides enterprise users with enhanced security. IT administrators can customize password management to automatically erase GoodLink from the device after a pre-set number of password attempts by the user have failed. GoodLink also features enhanced password control coupled with encryption of data to the device, remote erase capability and end-to-end encryption with AES.
"GoodLink on the Treo 650 is the knockout messaging solution for the enterprise today," said Terry Austin, president, Field Operations, Good Technology. "Delivering the best features of Outlook to mobile enterprise customers, we are thrilled to bring GoodLink's intuitive interface, robust IT administration and security tools and enhanced network performance to the newest member of the Treo smartphone family."
