Kinoma Producer and Player seem to have been handled by two development teams that both focused on video. Producer is intuitive and handles video conversion very well but has a few features missing when converting audio files. Kinoma Player EX plays videos well but is missing some audio features, as well as needing some visual improvements.
If Kinoma hopes to make Kinoma Player EX a real "player" that's competitive, it will need to have some of the pizazz and usability of other audio programs. AAC is a welcome feature, but MP3 support would make it a one-stop application for most audio needs.
If you only care about AAC audio, Kinoma Player EX is all you really need. If you also want to watch videos on your Treo, Kinoma Producer is the easiest way to prep your videos for the Treo.
Update: Version 3.1 of the software fixes many of the issues from the original version of the software. Make sure you are running 3.1 or higher of both products.
