Skiing with the Treo

Mon Feb 14, 2005 - 6:00 PM EST - By James Hromadka

Overview

As technology integrates into our lives more and more, we tend to look for ways to use it everywhere. The Treo is one of the things that I am loathe to leave behind when out and about because there is always something to add to my calendar or a new contact to add.

I spent last winter working on a project in Canada and fell in love with snow skiing. I love going to different resorts, and thanks to the Treo I have on my calendar the date and location of every place I have gone skiing. When I started planning a ski trip to Breckenridge, Colorado, I decided to take along the Treo and a few other items and see how technology could enrich the skiing experience. Over the next few pages, you will read about the products that were used on the slopes or for other activities while traveling.

Here is what I used on the trip:
  • PalmOne Treo 650
  • NormSoft Pocket Tunes Deluxe for MP3 songs
  • Apple iPod shuffle
  • 180°s Tec Fleece Ear Warmer w/ JVC headphones
  • Seidio 2-in-1 Retractable Headset Adapter
  • Seidio 3-in-1 Travel Kit
  • Seidio Emergency Power Charger
  • Seidio Emergency Power Charger
  • Seidio iSound FM broadcaster
This article will give a taste of the experiences I had with the products. I will have full reviews of the products in the coming weeks.
