The update improves the memory management by reducing the overhead of storing database records in the file system. It does so by compacting more than one record into a single 512 byte block. In effect, each 512 block is divided into 16 32 byte subblocks, which allows small and large records to be stored more efficiently.
Bluetooth DUN is not addressed in the current software update, Sprint today stated that they will be delivering this capability in a future update later this year. With the current software release, we are immediately able to address two important user issues while continuing to test our DUN implementation.
The Treo 650 Updater 1.08 will change the permanent (ROM) software in your Treo smartphone. Please set aside 30 minutes to complete the process.
