The Missing Sync

On Friday, April 29, Apple will be releasing Mac OS X 10.4, aka "Tiger." With an operating system update comes questions about application compatibility, and as a Treo user, I wanted to know what Tiger's .mac sync changes would do for Mac users with Palm OS devices. Mark/Space, maker of The Missing Sync for Palm OS, has published a support page that outlines Palm synchronization compatibility.

According to the support page, the current version of The Missing Sync for Palm OS, version 4.0.4, is compatible with Tiger. It also appears that Treo users that do not use The Missing Sync will not be left out in the cold. The support page mentions that "although the iSync Palm Conduit v1.2 does not work with Tiger, an updated iSync Palm Conduit is included with the new OS. "

For Missing Sync users, synchronization will work, but Internet Sharing may not function properly under Tiger. Mark/Space will soon release a free 4.0.5 update to address this issue.
