Yesterday I took a drive past Reliant Stadium and the Astrodome. It was truly heart-wrenching to see the people in the parking lot full of despair. It looked like a refugee camp. I was also proud to see Kirby Drive packed with cars and trucks taking supplies and donations to the people from New Orleans. A local radio station had a "requestathon" for any song you want in exchange for a donation. Someone donated $500 to play the "Super Bowl Shuffle" by the '85 Chicago Bears! Other radio stations and the people of Houston have really stepped up to help these people.

There are thousands of people that have lost their homes and livelihoods because of Hurricane Katrina. I encourage you to make a donation if possible. If you use iTunes, you can click here to bring up a place in the iTunes Music Store that lets you donate from $5 to $200 to the American Red Cross. You can also donate to the Red Cross by calling 1-800-HELP-NOW or visiting their website.
