Overview

Dieter: The Treo 300 is very similar to the 270 same screen, virtually all the same software (with a few exceptions, see below), and so on. The top does extend a bit further than the 270s, and because there is no SIM door, you have to deal with the FCC label ugliness on the back. On the other hand, sometimes the SIM door on the 270 makes it feel flimsy when I am typing, the 300 feels very, very solid.

Oh, and Im not sure why, but the 300 reboots from a soft reset about 5 times as fast as my 270, which has always been very slow to reset. There is also a nice Welcome to Sprint PCS splash screen when you turn wireless mode on.

Michael: The shape of the Treo 300 is actually slightly different on the bottom to. Where as the Treo 270 and 180 taper to a very thin bottom, the Treo 300 doesnt have this taper, and is just a bit more brick-like. This also changes the balance of the Treo 300 and it seems easier to hold in your hands. The Treo 300 has an attractive light metallic color to it, and Handsprings logo has been diminished too make way for Sprints logo.
