Palm Giving Away 3 Treos in CES Blogging Contest

Thu Jan 4, 2007 - 5:03 PM EST - By Dieter Bohn

Overview

Head on over to the "CES 2007 Palm Micro Blog and take a look, you'll see that Palm is apparently giving away 3 Treos. Two of the Treos will go to users who post to the blog about the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas; when CES is over, users will then be invited back to vote on the best bloggers - one of those voters will also win a Treo.

There are a few rules (and some legalese as well) to read through, but it appears that the short of it is pretty darn simple: Make at least 2 CES-related posts at Palm's blog to qualify, the two 'best bloggers' as voted on by everybody each wins a Treo (er, almost. Palm gets a vote too.).

Here's what they're looking for in a winner:

PERSONAL OR PROFESSIONAL USEFULNESS OF ENTRY – 25%
HOW INFORMATIVE IS THE MICRO BLOG ENTRY – 25%
HOW ENTERTAINING IS THE MICRO BLOG ENTRY – 25%
HOW TIMELY IS THE INFORMATION PROVIDED – 25%

Palm or its designees shall select the winners based on the above criteria from among the 10 entries that receive the most online votes.

I imagine that you don't actually need to be at CES to make a post, though Palm is pretty clear that you best not steal other folks' content without permission. Details for how to participate / post in the blog are here, the contest begins tomorrow and runs until Jan 19th.

If nothing else, it should be a good source for the vast array of gadget news to be found at CES. Here's another: TreoCentral will be at CES and MacWorld beginning early next week and will be reporting on the scene as well.
