700p ROM Update Posted (again)

Overview

A post over at the official Palm Blog makes it official: the ROM update for the Sprint version of the Treo 70op is online - you can find instructions for downloading the patch here. To say that it's been a long and drawn-out process to get to this point would be an understatement. A big understatement.

Now the bad news: Palm still hasn't fixed the desktop updater, you need to use an SD card to apply the update. More bad news: the patch for Verizon 700p Treos isn't out yet and we don't have an estimated date for that. So: saga not yet over.

On the bright side, TreoCentral users are by and large reporting success with the patch this time around. The patch should bring the ROM version of your Treo to 1.10.
