Palm Releases Windows Mobile 6 Upgrade for Treo 750v in Europe

Wed Aug 29, 2007 - 11:14 AM EDT - By Jennifer Chappell

Hmmm, where is our AT&T Windows Mobile 6 update for the Treo 750? Dieter reported over at WMExperts the other day that Australia has it already. Today Palm released a free Windows Mobile 6 Professional update for those who live in Europe or have a Treo 750v (Vodafone Treo).

So when will those of us in the states with Treo 750s get our Windows Mobile 6 update? I haven't had my Treo 750 very long and have been putting off loading up a bunch of software on it because I want to wait for the update. Anyway, the rumored date seems to be September 17th, which is the rumored date of the WM 6 update for the AT&T Blackjack.

You lucky folks in Europe will be getting some improvements along with the Windows Mobile 6 update. You'll be getting HSPDA high-speed download technology. Sound good? I thought so! The update will provide an update for Loss of System Sounds enhancement. You'll also be getting improved calendar management with an enhanced user interface. Other enhancements include Enhanced E-mail messaging, HTML/Smart filtering, SharePoint access, Voice command via Bluetooth, and USB cable charging.

The Windows Mobile 6 update can be downloaded here. I sure hope I can say that soon for us AT&T Treo 750 owners!
