Sometimes I feel enslaved to my technology. With the convenience of mobile technology for voice and data, it is almost impossible to escape those that want to reach you. Being unreachable now requires a conscious, deliberate effort, with the exceptions being a dead battery (possibly deliberate) or traveling to the boonies where cellular coverage is spotty, at best.
Everyone can use a little "down time" where you aren't "plugged in" and you are unreachable. If you want to be off the grid or reachable by only a select few, then Do Not Disturb for your WM Treo may just be the app for you.
Do Not Disturb is a FREE app located at www.freewareppc.com and developed by Trinket Software. It is a handy little app designed for a singular purpose - call filtering. Do Not Disturb intercepts calls before the first ring and will send them to your voicemail for later review. You can be specific in the calls you are filtering, letting the ones you want through and rejecting the rest. For instance, you can accept or reject phone calls based on contact, phone number or category.
If you are in an important meeting, out to lunch with a client or friend, enjoying a movie with your family, or any other activity or event where you wish not to be disturbed, then you should try this app. Even though the calls you specify are rejected, you will still get voicemail and the calls still show up in your Call History. Also, you can allow through only the calls that are important to you. If you need to receive a specific call, change adjust the profile so you can receive that call and effectively block all others.
To set up Do Not Disturb, just organize and activate "profiles" that cater to your needs. The interface is touch-friendly and easy to use. Enjoy an uninterrupted nap and screen unwanted calls today by trying out Do Not Disturb.
