Continuing our coverage of the Verizon Treo 600:
Today, as we previously reported, was the launch of the Verizon Treo 600 in B2B, or business channels. Many eager TreoCentral users posted in our forums of their success and failures in attempts to acquire a Verizon Treo 600 today.
Six TreoCentral users, rcyphermd, mdlissner, JawsNJ, genearch, boxters2, and filmboy, succesfully purchased for a multitude of prices a Verizon Treo 600 today. Pricing was variable due to different discounts that Verizon offers to businesses. It is expected that it will cost consumers $449 with a two year contract, and $499 with a one year contract.
Of those six, three claimed to have purchased overnight shipping, and have received FedEx tracking numbers for their Verizon Treo 600s. On the other hand, other Treo users were told by the Verizon representatives that there was no stock, and that no Treos would ship before July 19th.
July 19th, as we have wrote before, is the rumored date for the nationwide retail launch of the Verizon Treo 600. Stores should be receiving Verizon Treo 600 information soon; TreoCentral user boxster2 reports that the Verizon stores in North Carolina already have Treo 600 display units (mockups). No official announcement from Verizon or PalmOne is expected until July 19th.
If you have received a Verizon Treo 600, please email photos of it, and any differences that you note from current Treos to Michael Ducker at [email protected]. Thank You.
