Vonage VoIP on Treo?

Fri Jul 23, 2004 - 4:39 PM EDT - By Michael Ducker

Engadget is reporting in an article about Vonage's Wifi VoIP phone that they also have a version made for the Treo.

"Oh, and they have a softphone VoIP client that’ll work on the new Treo 610/Treo Ace and other Palm handhelds on the way. We’ll obviously have way more on all of this in a few weeks."

No furthur information is available, but VoIP on the Treo has been long predicted. I posted this as I thought it was just an interesting tidbit of Treo info. VoIP, or Voice-over-IP, for those who do not know, is a standard for digital packet-based telecommunications. Vonage is the primary consumer company offering these modern services, but AT&T, Comcast, and other large companies have expressed interest recently in offering the service on their lines.
