Today at CTIA Wireless IT & Entertainment 2004, Handango, the leading provider of mobile downloads, announced that it will deploy the Palm OS Version of Handango InHand, an intelligence device-resident download client, on the Sprint PCS Vision Smart Device Treo 650 by palmOne to be available from Sprint next month. Sprint is the first wireless carrier to license and deploy the Palm OS version of Handango InHand.
Handango InHand is fully customized for the Sprint Treo 650 and has been rebranded as the Sprint PCS Software Store. The Sprint PCS Software Store will run locally on the phone, providing customers with immediate access to a variety of Palm OS(R) mobile content including games, business applications, productivity titles, ringtones and more. Applications have been hand-selected from Handango's catalog of more than 20,000 Palm OS software titles.
While shopping, customers can access product descriptions, user ratings, price and screenshots. Customers can refresh their application catalog anytime, anywhere, using Handango InHand's over-the-air pull update functionality. With Handango InHand's convenient over-the-air application delivery and download safeguard technology, customers can easily find and download content with amazing simplicity and rock-solid security.
