Thumbs Down

works ok, but expensive and cable would get jammed when unit was in my pocket
I used this headset for about 6 months. In terms of nominal convenience (being retractable), call clarity, and comfort, I liked it, and recommend it. *However*, given that the retractors frame (see the pic -- the frame is the clear piece that is lying across the wound-up reel of cable) is not as wide as the wound-up reel of cable -- I consistently found that the outtermost cable on the reel would get dislodged and jammed down in between the frame and the rest of the reel of wound-up cable. The result of this is that Id spend a bit of time un-jamming the silly thing -- not hard to do, but a pain -- when I wanted/needed to use it. So one day I used the built-in belt clip thingee on the frame to clip it to one of my belt loops on my pants rather than put it in my pocket, and it ended up slipping off and I lost the silly thing. Well, fine. It turns out that I found an earbud retractable headset that I like a lot better overall and costs half as much... GoldLantern: FreeMe2 Retractable Headset http://store.yahoo.com/goldlantern/frmorehahewi.html I got it at Frys for $20. Note that the frame on this unit is as wide as the wound-up cable reel -- hence Ive had no dislodging&jamming problems with this unit. Call quality is fine. Sometimes the push2talk button is in the way when putting it in my ear (only downside so far).

Thumbs Up

Works Well, Compact
It is so nice to know that when I throw my earpiece in my pocket I can take it out later and not have to worry about it being all wrapped around stuff. It is also a snap to put away after using. FWIW, you can find this for at least ten dollars less than the $40 quoted here.
