The all purpose phone! |
It's a neat device and considering it does it all, the only downside to it...it's boxy design, makes sense. It's slightly awkward to use, but once again, it is what it is. You can't improve on the design without loosing some of the function. This is my sixth Palm and these folks got their stuff together. I would STRONGLY recommend the Palm version...not the Windows version. I tried them both and took the Windows version back and exchanged it. Maybe I was just too used to the screen layout on the Palm. I've been using it for two years and have it loaded with everything from a Realtor electronic key to all my data base to old and new testament of the Bible and still have "tons" of space left.

Outdated, but not forgotten.... |
It is a smart phone, it does what it says and if you use it for what it was inteded to do, it'll do it well. Operating system could use updates, sure there are better phones out there, but some of these negative remarks about Treos seem a bit far fetched imo.
Mine has worked well for me, that's all I can say, but I am also not continuing with Palm since there really is nothing left to go to in their phone line up. Look out, here comes another future "crackberry addict" ;-)

piece of %(*&&!...continued |
used palm since the very first...was dying for the cell phone palm combo but have always been dissappointed since then. even when working the phone acts like a kid with ADHD and is constantly interupting you or blocking you so you have to restart a series of poorly thought out taps to reaccess what you were doing. security needs to be more flexible and it has to let you finish a task and then...remind you especially since it's so awkward to start some tasks.
hope they get their act to gether but i'm about to be a blackberry or iphone coustomer!

I like but it's not compatible with Apple! |
I called Palm at 813-3-3-4913 and was put in contact with an Apple specialist for Leopard.10.5.2.
Service request 1-51340793931 (RHEA) the lady cleared out both my computer and cell phone and was unable to restore either.
As a member of an Apple group NATMAC a gentleman who teaches the group came to my home and after 4 hours and $240.00 .
He was able to, with the use ofApples "Time Machine" was able to restore both!
With a warning, "do not attempt to use Palms downloads, do not even attempt to HotSync".
I had not used Carbon Copy Clone in months, so anything prior to that date was a problem.
As a writer I am most annoyed with what occurred.
I do not like the iPhone it is not as good a product as the Palm 700P, nor do I want to switch to At&T from Verizon.
I hope you are coming out with a product that is more compatible with Apple's Leopard...soon.
Dealing with thePhilippines was too time consuming and it failed to resolve the problems.

integral part of my work |
the 700p works for me. its like a carhart jacket - no-nonsense and gets the job done. it has been reliable for me, and the interface, OS, and form factor are a good fit for me. ps: always update your software and have Sprint update your roaming list regularly.

700p is a Good Phone |
Works well, much better than Windows Mobile. Stable platform, very few resets, one hard reset ever two months or so. Palm OS is very good, just not sexy ;-)
