All in one device that makes my life simpler (And color games!)
Just the best so far. I changed from Prism with Visorphone and even though the color is not as great it works and is a much better form factor

Looking forward to Treo 300
I sure wish it had a better screen and some form of slot for use with a backup card. Other that that, I'm very excited!

100X better than my Visor phone...
I wish it it had the 16 bit active screen my Prism had, and the volume on the ear pc could be louder. The only other improvement could be a metal or aluminum casing. Last word, if you were a Visor phone owner, it is a must, and you should be pleased over all.

I am not soooo sure
After reading James review, I get a sense that he's trying to "protect" the sanity of the 270. May be good for early adopters...but I am not sure if the price point and some of it's still out standing flaws are worth the switch.

ASCI?
as far as i know ASCI code is 7-bit. ASCI provides all usual letters that are used in france and germany. , etc...8-bit is only needed for eastern europe, or am i wrong on this? german and french letters should be no problem with 7-bit, right? does this only affect the 800/1900 version of the treo or the 800/1800 also?

Still too flawed... but has a lot of potential
Ok, it's a step in the right direction and has a few improvements on the 180 (namely the backlit keyboard which really bugged me on the 180). Right... down to the functionality and those bugs we all keep talking about! For instance, there is no relationship between the phonebook and the speed dialler. If you change a number in your address book, it would seem obvious that the speed dialler number would change also. This is not the case. In phonebook mode, you can search by first letter of first name and first letter of last name (so JS will result in John Smith). Nice touch but why does this not apply when searching to create an SMS? The SMS software only supports 7bit characters which barely covers CAPS and some accented characters. If you live in Europe, you will have problems using some special characters as they are 8bit. A call to Handspring and I was told, it may be fixed but only for future Treo models. This suggests it may not be fixed at all! I was also asked if I would like to speak to a Technical person for a workaround - there is no workaround... Battery life is appalling. The 150 hours standby is grossly exaggerated - I'm lucky if I get 70-80 hours. Hopefully this will improve with future models. Why do my calls get cut off while using the Headset (provided by Handspring). Again, Handspring are not sure but are working on it. Handspring wins on effort but still fail to produce a truly seamless PDA/phone hybrid. I will wait for the next model and in the meantime, I've dusted off my trusty Vx and my old Nokia now sports a SIM card.

Awesome! too much $$$ tho
Im 14 years old and I have a 180. I LOVE IT. I pay for service myself and its a struggle but this color phone is too much money. O well it looks awesome though.
