Plantronics Voyager 855 Bluetooth Headset by Plantronics

>> Read Review (Rating 4/5) <<

The new Plantronics Voyager 855 headset offers a convertible design and immersive sound experience for calls as well as listening to music on Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones with stereo A2DP. The lightest stereo headset available to date, the new Voyager 855 includes intelligent features that offer unparalleled audio quality.

Tailor Wear for Mono or Stereo Sound

Customizable for either mono or stereo use, the Plantronics Voyager 855 features a detachable stereo cable so consumers can tailor the wearing style to their communication and entertainment preferences. With specially designed, form-fitting earbuds, the Voyager 855 fits snugly and securely to seal out unwanted background distractions.

The Voyager 855s sound-isolating earbuds and convertible cable offer crystal clear wireless stereo sound when listening to digital music, as well as complete binaural immersion in conversations. When attached, the stereo cable also enables wireless AVRCP remote control capabilities. Plantronics stereo multipoint technology alerts users to incoming calls and allows easy switching between conversations and music.

Drop the second earbud or detach the cable and the headset serves as a high quality mono Bluetooth device.

Slide-to-Talk, Boom-Extended Microphone

The Plantronics voyager 855 Bluetooth headset features a sleek slide-to-talk boom to provide convenient call control and improved audio performance. Sliding the boom open instantly connects the caller. The extending boom also houses a voice tube to position the microphone closer to the mount for directional voice reception, ensuring maximum voice clarity and intelligibility. When the boom slides back, the call ends and/or the users music selection conveniently resumes play.

Plantronics AudioIQNoise Reduction and Two-Way Call Clarity

The Voyager 855 features Plantronics award-winning AudioIQ technologyan exclusive, adaptive digital signal processing (DSP) technology that automatically reduces background noise and intelligently adjusts audio levels to increase clarity on both ends of a conversation.

Plantronics new Voyager 855 offers approximately seven hours talk time, six hours listening time and 160 hours stand-by time from a single battery charge. And at only 15 grams, the Voyager is the lightest stereo Bluetooth headset available.

Thumbs Up

Good on calls, iffy for tunes
As a simple head set this one seems to work well with my 755P, better than most others I have tried. For answering and making calls, no problems! SAG, on the other hand, works but I find I must pair to the head set every time before using it otherise I get a crash or just a hung phone. Other than that, sound isn't bad to my ears for a small head set and it works well with pTunes incuding the remote functions.

Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid!!!
Bought it, took it home, plugged in the charger, went to turn it on so I could pair it with my "Juke"...all I get is a steady red flashing light....nothing else. Took it back....end of story.

Thumbs Down

does not work with 680
I get unknown command HCL when I try and pair with my 680 using audiogateway.

Thumbs Down

It doesnt work-review is bull
I bought one based on your article. I have a 700p. Forget stereo, it doesnt work at all. It pairs, but doesnt function, so I called Plantronics and they said it absolutely will not work with Treo palm os phones. What gives? Someone is very wrong. If the reviewer was able to get it to work, I'd like to know how.

Thumbs Down

Uncomfortable headset and no A2DP application support
The hook pulls the headset out of my ear, none of the eargels seem to fit. The stereo audio is out of phase and the channels are reversed on my 755p. SAG reboots my device every time I try to use it with the Voyager 855 and audio apps other than Pocketunes, like the Palm Voice Recorder and Callrec, and the author of SAG wont respond to bug reports or email, and wont address these issues. Save yourself a lot of trouble and pass this one up until either Palm adds A2DP support to the device, or another author writes a better audio gateway program and actually supports it.
