Well, Palm has posted a software update for the Treo 680. It seems that Palm has identified that the Treo 680 can experience reduced battery life when the camera is used. There have been many posts on the TreoCentral Treo 680 forum regarding this problem, and many users have told of their experiences of battery drainage after using the camera app.
Palm says that the Treo 680's camera may continue to draw power from the battery when the device is in standby mode. Treo 680 users should install the Treo 680 Camera Update to address this issue.
So head on over to Palm's website and install this much needed patch! I'm going over there right now to install it myself. I can't wait to have a battery in my new Treo 680 that doesn't drain as quickly as my old, beat up Tungsten E! ;-) Thanks Palm! I knew you'd come through for us.
