Treo 300 now only $249.99
Amazon.com now offers the Treo 300 for only $249.99 (with new service activation).
To get this amazing price you need to combine two rebates - one from Sprint and one from Amazon. The Sprint mail-in rebate is for $50 and expires on Nov 02.
Amazon offers a $200.00 mail-in rebate, which expires on November 18th. Amazon's offer is only valid when establishing a new Sprint PCS account.
There has been some confusion regarding Amazon's promotion. Jon Woods sent the following comments:
I just activated my new Sprint Treo 300 yesterday, purchased from Amazon.com and received on Friday. Here's how it really goes. Whatever service plan you select at Amazon is irrelevant - when you get the Treo 300, you have to call Sprint (you could do it online, it says, but I went with the phone call) to activate your new plan. They don't know and don't care what you selected at Amazon - they ask you, and you tell them, what service plan you want. So I told them which of the new plans I wanted, which the Sprint reps know all about at this point, and... NO PROBLEM, that's what I get. I will also get my 1st month bill from Sprint in just a few days, since their cellular service plans are billed at the beginning of each month. That's not a "catch" - I'll have the documentation I need to get my Amazon rebate. I also can't figure out what on Earth the Amazon rep could mean by "they won't be getting the new rate plans at all." The fact of the matter is that the "old plans" are gone at Sprint - the new plans are what they are now selling - and Amazon's outdated descriptions are not at all relevant to that. Seems like the Amazon reps are the wrong people to ask about this.
Thanks to Steve for the initial news tip.
