It's official: T-Mobile supports Treo GPRS

Tue Nov 26, 2002 - 12:14 AM EST - By Marcus Adolfsson

Handspring has now updated their support section to include the official T-Mobile GPRS upgrade.

Cingular and AT&T customers are still out of luck, as these carriers have not yet approved the Treo GPRS Upgrade. However, Cingular and AT&T customers can follow the procedure outlined in our Guide to GPRS to bypass the install check. If your Treo becomes disabled by the upgrade, you can always tell HS support that you are using T-Mobile. However, we do not advocate this.

See our Guide to GPRS for the new and improved features that this upgrade offers.

Earlier today TC reader davburns found the GPRS upgrade on Handspring's servers. Handspring pulled the file after we posted its location, but it is now available again.

There has been no changes to the T-Mobile Internet Rate page recently, and we are fairly certain that there will not be any GPRS price reductions in the near future. Let's hope that we are wrong!
