Last week pictures were floating around that made it look like the new Palm webOS was running on the Palm Centro. Could it be? Nah... there's no way. To support webOS requires a whole new hardware setup, right?

Originally posted at Tam's Palm and talked about by Jason at our sister site, we decided to sit tight to see if a reasonable explanation appeared. And within a couple of days, it did.

Apparently, TealPoint Software (www.tealpoint.com) of San Rafael, California is the responsible party. On their website you'll find a brand new product called TealOS for $14.95. It is described as being "a multi-functional application launcher that gives your time-honored handheld the exciting look and feel of the newest devices."

Card based interface will make you flip... Running under Palm OS, it was designed to simulate the card-based interface of webOS. TealOS comes complete with support for thumbnail image cards, a translucent applications screen, customizable background images, and even a popup wave launcher.

Could be the best of both worlds.
