Sprint Offers Virtual Test Drive
Sprint has just added a new feature to its website that offers customers an opportunity to virtually test drive new phones.
In her post, Tricia Duryee of MocoNews remarked, "While Sprint hasnt been known for having the best customer service, this should helpor at least give a new twist to the dreaded purchase decision. The service is being provided by San Mateo, Calif.-based DeviceAnywhere, which is better known for providing online simulators to developers looking for a way to test applications."
As of Tuesday, it wasn't obvious where to find this virtual test drive. What I did discover is that in Sprint's support section, there is a comprehensive page per device that includes a list of things you can do with that particular phone, tutorials, videos, images and more. Further digging unveiled that DeviceAnywhere was powering the tutorial section.
Here's the page for the Treo Pro.
From what I could see, the tutorials were old. Perhaps Sprint is focusing on newer devices.
Note: I was finally able to track down the announcement. It wasn't issued by Sprint. It came from DeviceAnywhere
