Reaction: "Think" Event...
The reaction to HP's "Think" announcement has been pretty good.
John Paczkowski of All Things D wrote
The HP TouchPad seems to have wiggled its way into contender consideration.
A story in the San Francisco Chronicle by Casey Newton noted:
The introduction of HP's tablet will bring a third major entrant into the tablet market, which was revived last year when Apple introduced the iPad. Apple sold nearly 15 million tablets in its first year. A sequel to the original model is expected to be announced within the next few months and could be available before the TouchPad.
That remark caught my eye because it clearly skipped Research in Motion's PlayBook tablet.
In Paczkowski's post, he remarked, "Perhaps HP isn't trying to out iPad the iPad--it's trying to out iPad the iPad's imitators, a far less daunting task."
Timing is everything, so hopefully the TouchPad will be able to hit the market sooner than later.
