Full Page Veer Ad: Why the Beef?

Sun May 29, 2011 - 3:20 PM EDT - By Annie Latham

You may have seen the write-up at our sister site, PreCentral about the full page ad for the HP Veer. On Friday, a version of the Veer ad appeared on page A5 of The Wall Street Journal.

Initially, I was happy to see the Veer get some push from HP. But upon further review, I saw the same thing that caught Dieter's eye: The beefy hand.

Indeed, making the point that the ad is showing the Veer in actual size is a good thing. But to imply that someone with a big hand would be using it may be a stretch.

Smaller hands please! And if you really want to make your point, do something creative like the way the Mini Cooper was introduced.
