Yahoo! Go

Wed Oct 11, 2006 - 12:54 PM EDT - By Dieter Bohn

Conclusion

All in all, Y!Go is a great app. Heck, we even learned during the last TreoCast that Microsoft's own people were very impressed with it and talked it up during the Mobius conference. If you're a Yahoo user, you want this app.

The question for me, though, is whether this app is cool enough to make me a Yahoo user. All these synchronization tools are pretty neat, but they're only as good as Yahoo itself. If Yahoo would improve its support for desktop clients, I'd probably find myself sending out one of those "My email address has changed" messages to all my friends. As it is, I hate those messages and I really like my IMAP .Mac account. I'm betting that Y!Go won't stay on my device permanently unless Yahoo makes their other services as good as Y!Go itself is.
