Would you recommend Treo 700p ?

Broken T650 forced 700P, now happy ?
Dropped 650 for last time which forced purchase of 700P. 700P is pretty nice. I like the extra memory and the fast EvDO web browsing speed (SPRINT). Bluetooth connection to my Jabra JX10 headset is much, much nicer (which is really appreciated). On 650 the connection on outgoing or incoming call was really late, now this is gone at least on outgoing calls. SprintTV is fun but appears to cost $$$. The damn thing went into a futile reset loop last night and I had to erase everything to get back in the saddle - nuisance ... but since my 650 is broke --> its the 700p for me..

Treo 700p--LEMON!
I have owned it a week and it dies, about 4 times a day. I have to take the battery out or hit the reset button to get it to power up again. If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate it.

Unreliable phone
This is a very unreliable phone do not waste your hard earned money on this product. Wait until Palm resolves the problems with its next release of a Treo phone. Maybe the follow-on will not have as many critical problems.

I wish my phone was reliable!!!
I was so excited to finaly have a smartphone but I am so dissapointed with both the 700p and 700w. I have had four replacements, two 700w's and two 700p's. All of them brand new out the box from verizon wireless. Friends of mine have the 650 from sprint and they never experienced any of the problems that I have. All four were defective. I had to do soft resets and hard resets almost daily on all of them. I could never text message someone without my phone freezing. Adding any application is a nightmare. Technical support is almost rare. Verizon wireless will only send you to call Palm or windows and the problems are never resolved. Again I wonder if it is the carrier but four phones two of each and still my phone is unreliable. I dont recommend this phone. Cost too much for so many mistakes.

UI is simple yet functional
I was a palm user for many years before I was swayed over to Pocket PC and I have to say that I really missed the simplicity of Palm's UI. Its not flashy but it does what its supposed to do. I have to say I am pleased with the form factor as well considering that I was carrying around an Ipaq 4705 ( the brick of all bricks) and a sprint flip phone. The EVDO data speeds are quick, I just have occasional issues with Blazer recognizing submit buttons on some web sites.

Three 700p's and three defective devices
I work for a company that has around 600 data devices and I have ordered most of them. I order from both Cingular and now Verizon, and I support the devices. I have ordered two Verizon Treo 700p devices, and both were defective right out of the box. On the one the wireless wouldn't turn on even after being charged overnight, and on the other it kept shutting off and after about four hours would never come back on again. On the one that died over the four hour period, we got a replacement from Verizon, and now the replacement stops receiving email every day, gives errors, and the user has to take the battery out in order reset the device to receive email againevery day. I have probably order about 100 Treo 650s through Cingular, and they have been far more reliable than the 700p, except if you hit a dead spot, the wireless signal has to be manually turned back on, it wont pick back up on its own.

Upgrade from Blackberry
I've been a diehard Blackberry user for years, but this puts the BBerry to shame. Web speed is awesome, comes loaded with everything you could possibly want. Never could see using the Blackberry instead of the laptop, but this is a different story.

Great Phone & Palm!
Yep, it can be a trifle persnickity, but it's just so nice to have a combined unit, with web access. I did have to delete some third party programs, but I hardly notice any difference from this unit and my beloved Zire 72 (now the wife gets that one!) Still: what the heck were they thinking to put that tiny earphone jack hole onthis phone?! I've spent hours and valuable money driving all over creation trying to find the adapter to 3.5mm! WHat, did Palm make a huge purchasing error and get stuck with 10 million of those awful looking adapters, right before they were to decide which size plug to use? Oy!!
