Finally Out but can't sync w/yahoo. |
I've been dying for the 680 to come out to replace my ancient clie PEG-UX50. With two days of a headache trying to sync yahoo!, I've resolved to syncing my yahoo! calendar to outlook, and then syncing my pda to outlook. I saved $70 bucks with sync software, and it works flawlessly. Phone is great size, and the os system is quick - all packed without the antennae! Love it.

the phone the 650 wanted to be |
I pre-ordered my unlocked 680 with an instant feeling of guilt - I couldn't really justify the purchase, but there were just little things about the 650 that annoyed me (mine would stop working in cold weather). I was instantly impressed by the phone. I had worried that it's lack of an antenna would bother me (I found the 650's rather useful for taking it out of a pocket or just to know what way round it was) but it makes the phone feel so more compact. The screen is brighter and buttons easier to use, although i notice that the colour of the buttons when back-lit is not uniform (the top keys look greener than the lower ones). The new phone application looks cleaner, but I really don't find it an improvement over the 650. The multipage grid of speed-dial buttons on the 650 was more intuitive than the 680's single column list. I would have loved to have seen improvements made to the Contacts application, which has always felt very basic. I will continue to use TAKEphONE for now. Call handling in general is improved and I like the larger green and red buttons.
I'm glad I bought the 680 - it's stable, looks great and will no doubt serve me well

Luv the 680 |
Only 2 days of use but this is great - my 600 was old reliable but the screen and better phone alone makes the 680 a delight. Ran battery down in about six hours but I had telephone on, GPRS connected, BlueTooth, and infrared all on. With more judicious use and a fully charged battery (or an OEM battery that's bound to appear), I'm not concerned.

Not better than 650 |
I had this for two days and was very unimpressed with its terrible battery life. I charged it fully at 10.30 pm went to bed and did nothing with it and by 6 am the battery was half depleted? The stylus is so cheap it bends. The light from the display can be seen thru the cracks on the side of the case. It is lighter and has more memory, however it is so light that it can easily slip out of your pocket and you would never know its missing. The memory is nice but for my treo 650 a memory card more than made up the differences. If you have never had a 650 then go for this one if you have a treo 650 hang onto it.

GREAT OVER ALL BUT THE BATTERY LIFE SUCKS |
I FOUND THE 680 TO BE CHEAPER THEN THE 650. I NEEDED A NEW PHONE. I DROP MY 650 THE SCREEN WENT BLACK AND DID NOT WANT TO SPENT ALOT OF MONEY. I LIKE THAT THE KEYS ARE BIG AND THERE IS NO ANTENNA. THE BATTERY CAPACITY SUCKS. AFTER ONE CALL OR TOUCHING THE SCREEN THE BATTERY IS GONE. THE PHONE IS SMALL AND LIGHT.

Love it! |
Compared to my 3 year old Treo 600, it is amazing and I dont have to worry about the antenna breaking again! I guess if you have a 650 it is not a big change, but for a first treo phone or to replace a broke down old model, it's got my vote! And I couldnt believe the price, I got this phone, one of the brand new samsungs (for my husband), two car chargers and a bluetooth headset all for about $50 less than what I had paid for the 600 that I bought 3 years ago!

No-brainer over my aging Treo 600 |
My almost three-year-old Treo 600 has served me me well, but with the orange dots appearing on screen, full memory and scratched sides and corners, there's no question. Mine's on order nice, pretty, unlocked, copper colored one.

Get it if your Treo 650 is starting to look old |
Simply get the Treo 680 if your old Treo is starting to show its age. Electronic products tend to break easily every 2 or more years. For existing Treo users, this is simply a no-brainer upgrade. Zero learning curve!

Great Value! |
It is a great value smartphone. It has a touchscreen and with decent software bundling. It also can run lots of 3rd party software on it. Given its price, this is a great buy.
